Jr. Coding

Saturdays 9 – 10 am

7 Weeks: April 27, May 4, 11, 18, June 1, 8, 15

Grades K-2

Learn about robots, how they work and begin to code them! We’ll use line-following robots and easy-to-use block code in this class for our youngest students. We’ll be using Edison robots which are packed with sensors and motors and are LEGO compatible. We’ll begin exploring their many functions and discover how robots work, how the components interact and how we can control them with code. When we add LEGOs, we also engage engineering concepts and the design process. This class will also involve debugging, which builds perseverance and helps students develop a growth mindset. We really love to approach computer science in the form of physical computing because of the excitement it generates and also because many different types of learners respond so well to it.
